How do you play Texas Hold’em?

The basics

Each player receives two private cards, then five community cards are dealt face-up in three stages. The goal is to make the best five-card hand using any combination of your two cards and the community cards.

  • The flop: three community cards.
  • The turn: one additional card.
  • The river: the final community card.

Betting rounds

There are four betting rounds: pre-flop, after the flop, after the turn, and after the river. Players can check, bet, call, raise, or fold based on their hand strength and read of the table.

  • Pre-flop: after receiving hole cards.
  • Post-flop, post-turn, and post-river rounds.
  • Showdown: remaining players reveal cards to determine the winner.

Hand rankings

From high card to royal flush, knowing hand rankings is essential. Our hosts are happy to guide newcomers through the rankings before play begins.

  • Common hands: pair, two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, royal flush.
  • Rankings are displayed on table reference cards.

Real tables, real people

Our Card Lounge is built for genuine social poker. You’ll sit at physical poker tables with felt surfaces, shuffle real cards, and read the expressions of players across from you—no avatars, no algorithms.

  • Dedicated Card Lounge separate from the dining room.
  • Professional-grade poker tables with comfortable seating.
  • Neutral chips used for play, with no monetary value.
